GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q. What versions of SYSPRO are supported? 
A. All versions of SYSPRO Version 6 Issue 10 and higher are supported.

Q. Will riteSCAN work on a wireless laptop? 
A. Yes.  There are Pocket PC / Windows Mobile (for handheld devices) and Windows desktop client versions available.

Q. Can I see how riteSCAN works? 
A. Yes.  Our web-based demos are a great way to see riteSCAN live and in action.  Viewing is easy, just click on Webinars and view a recorded demonstration, or register for one of our live web demonstrations that are offered throughout the year. 

Q. Do you have any references/testimonials? 
A. Yes.  You can find our testimonials right here on riteSCAN.com.  Contact riteSOFT for information on product references.

Q. What is the relative cost of hardware/wiring/setup? 
A. The cost of the hardware implementation depends on the scale of you implementation.  riteSOFT has partnered with the nation’s leading mobile computing implementers who are happy to provide you with an idea of the cost. Contact riteSOFT and we will put you in touch with a hardware professional.

Q. Who does the hardware/wiring/setup part of implementation? 
A. Some companies have dedicated IT staff that install and configure the hardware but the vast majority work with a qualified hardware professional.  Contact riteSOFT and we can help you get in touch with a hardware professional.

Q. What kind of support can I expect for riteSCAN? 
A. We're comitted to providing the best support in the industry to our valued customers. Q. Are future releases of riteSCAN made available and how? 
A. Customers and Partners can download updates from www.ritescan.com.

HARDWARE QUESTIONS 

Q. How many access points are needed?  
A. The number of wireless access points needed depends on several factors including number of users, the amount of area to cover, and the types of materials in your warehouse that could impact radio frequency transmission.  The best way to figure exactly how many wireless access points you need is to have riteSOFT help you get in touch with a qualified hardware professional who will help explain the process.

Q. What happens if the battery dies in the handheld? 
A. When the rechargeable battery loses its charge the handheld device shuts off.  After replacing or recharging the battery, the handheld and riteSCAN resume as if nothing had ever happened.

Q. What handhelds are compatible with riteSCAN? 
A. Any handheld that runs the Pocket PC 2003 or greater or Windows Mobile 5 or greater operating system.

Q. What software do I need for the handhelds? 
A. There is no additional software needed by riteSCAN beyond what is already available on the handheld.

Q. What operating system do I need to be running on my handheld barcode scanning hardware to use riteSCAN?  
A. Windows Mobile 5 (or greater) or Pocket PC 2003 (or greater).

INSTALLATION QUESTIONS

Q. How do I install riteSCAN? 
A. Installing riteSCAN is easy.  Simply insert the installation CD and follow the on-screen instructions.

Q. What set up and configuration capabilities are available? 
A. Most of the setup and configuration for riteSCAN is already done for you in SYSPRO.  There are some configuration options that are specific to riteSCAN and you can see those by viewing a riteSCAN demonstration. Click on Webinars and view a demo to see this and much more.

Q. What security options are available? 
A. riteSCAN uses SYSPRO’s security settings.

riteSCAN FUNCTIONALITY

Q. I know riteSCAN works with barcodes but are there plans to support RFID? 
A. Yes.  As RFID become more cost effective and widely adopted, riteSCAN will provide RFID capability.

Q. How do I print barcode labels? 
A. The best way to print barcode labels is with an application like Bartender  or NiceLabel.  riteSCAN works with any barcode type your handheld scanner can read.

Q. What if I want custom features? 
A. We pride ourselves on listening to our customers and the future direction of riteSCAN is based on that feedback.  Contact riteSOFT and submit your enhancement request or to ask about our product roadmap.

Q. Does riteSCAN support Unit Quantity Processing? 
A. Yes.

Q. What other inventory transaction types will be available in riteSCAN? 
A. We welcome feedback on which functions to add to riteSCAN. Contact riteSOFT and ask about our product roadmap.

Q. Does riteSCAN support serial numbering? 
A. Yes.  riteSCAN supports lots and serial numbering.

Q. Does riteSCAN support over shipment (ship over the amount that was ordered) in sales order picking? 
A. Yes.

Q. Does riteSCAN change the order status so that the S/O is ‘ready to invoice’?  
A. Yes.
